Speaking
Personal finance is more personal than it is finance. This is a message, grounded in science, that I'm privileged to share in various forms speaking for various audiences. Whether for an association of financial planners, a Fortune 500 company, an academic institution, or a non-profit—all of which I have spoken for in the past—my strategy is to ENGAGE, ENTERTAIN, and EDUCATE your audience, giving attendees tangible takeaways to improve their lives and work.
As for my credentials, I’ve long educated in the public sphere:
I taught the Fundamentals of Financial Planning at my alma mater, Towson University, for seven years. Nothing has better prepared me to engage your audience than attempting to evoke interest among 30-40 college students every semester!
I’ve authored two books: Simple Money, published by Baker Books, and The Ultimate Financial Plan, co-authored with international best-selling author, Jim Stovall, and published by John Wiley & Sons.
I’ve written a (roughly) weekly blog post for Forbes since 2011.
I’ve enjoyed being a guest on NBC’s TODAY Show several times.
I’m on the CNBC Advisor Council and have long been a contributor to the network since 2009.
I’ve been a guest on the NPR radio programs Morning Edition and The Diane Rehm Show.
I’ve often been a television guest on regional NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox affiliates.
But perhaps most importantly, I’ve been customizing paid speaking engagements for organizations like yours for many years, and I’d love to talk to you about what would best serve your audience.
I charge a flat fee for speaking based on the scope of work plus travel expense reimbursement. If you're interested in having me speak at your upcoming event, you can reach me here:
